Ranchi: The Joint Team of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) and Ranchi police on Thursday moved posters that were inserted throughout the capital to welcome Bhairav Singh, who had attacked the Convoy of the Head of the Minister of Hemant Soren in January this year.
Poster was installed by various organizations to celebrate the release of Bhairav Singh after getting guarantees from the Jharkhan High Court on Wednesday.
Immediately after the posters, which featured Singh Holding Sarna flag in his hand appeared on the street, a tribal organization led by the Central Sarna Committee arrived near the Harmu Chowk and demanded the transfer of posters who claimed to hurt their religious sentiments.
Tribal groups said they could not allow the defendants who were tried for attacking the chairman of the State Minister who carried the Sarna flag because they did not support the action.
“This does not respect our culture and practice when we worship the Sarna flag.
If criminals use it for political benefits, we cannot let things like it hurt our religious sentiment,” said the President of the Central Sarna Committee of Anil Tigga.
Tigga called it a political conspiracy against CM Hemant Soren and said: “Large poster has been installed on your harpass that is used by cm for his movements and it itself is very suspicious.
We cannot allow people, especially those accused of attacking our own head ministers for Use our religion for their own benefit.
“The protest was withdrawn after the poster was removed.
Speaking with Toi, Commissioner RMC Mukesh Kumar said: “Our team tracks all invalid posters and we identify people who add them without permission.
We will punish them because of the use of our space without permission and if needed, the firs will be listed guilty .
“This poster bears the name of Ram Bhakt and Anandnagar Chhath Puja Samiti as a proposer who welcomes Singh because of his release.
Kumar said that in addition to Poster Singh, he had asked the RMC market section officials to mapping a week of all unauthorized posters throughout the city and to punish everyone found using Civic’s body space illegally.
Officer-responsible for the Argora Vinod Kumar police station said, “We have confiscated all posters placed in various locations in our area.”
