Coimbatore: Bread 1.3km full of holes in the FCI road, which connects Gandhimanagar with Sathyamangalam Road in Ganapathy, has turned into a nightmare for motorists.
Road provides easy access to places like Avarampalayam.
The driver said they had demanded local authorities to deliver the way over the past few months, but it didn’t work.
Balamurugan, a resident of Gandhimanagar, said, “Every time I travel on the road, I go down with back pain.
I tried my best level to avoid stretching, but I finally used the route whenever I was late working.” All stretches, he said, must Leveled and the road must be held without further delay.
“We have held several protests, demanding authority to deliver the way, but in vain.” Peenal, regular commuters are stretched, say people falling from their two-wheeled vehicles are a common sight on stretches.
“The vehicle often slips due to poor road conditions, causing an accident.
Many people are forced to take a side by side, crowded them in the process.” P Stephen, a resident of EB Colony, said the dust originating from the road is another cause.
“Regular commuters suffer from eye irritation and respiratory problems.
The road is not in a condition.
It must be fully connected.” The resident said the road would be slippery and turn into a pool, every time it rained.
They said it was a food company from India’s responsibility (FCI) to maintain the road in good condition, because of its stretch.
Residents have demanded the elected authority and representatives to bring their way under the control of the city corporation, which they hoped to maintain the road in better conditions.
Informer Saranlatur MLA N Karthik said he had taken problems with various officials several times in recent years, without results.
“I have met the district collector recently and took a problem with him.
He has convinced me to find the earliest solution.” When contacted, Commissioner City Corporation King Gopal Sunkara said he would check with officials about road problems and take appropriate action.
