New Delhi: The demand for power in the country touches the highest of all time and crosses a 200 gw sign on Wednesday in the middle of many countries that witness high temperatures due to delay monsoons, and easing of restrictions related to Koronavirus.
According to the latest power ministry data, demand for peaks or the highest supply in a day touched the highest of 200.57 gW on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, power requests at a record high of 197.07 gw.
Experts argue that high temperatures in many countries are delayed by monsoons and easing of restrictions placed to curb Coronavirus infection has caused a surge in power demand today.
Last month, the demand for peaks was filled or the highest supply in a day witnessed the growth of more than 16 percent in 191.51 GW (recorded on June 30) compared to 164.98 GW was recorded in June 2020.
Peak power request was 182.45 gw in June 2019.
According to the ministry data, the demand for peak power has touched the highest of all time 192.16 GW on July 5, 2021.
Then, the number has exceeded the demand for peak power 191.51 GW recorded on June 30.
“Today, all the peaks of India’s request to meet the highest level of all time 197060 MW at 11:43 hours.
Looking forward to the request to touch 200000 MW in the near future,” said Minister of Power RK Singh in a tweet on Tuesday.
In January, Singh had tweeted that the demand and supply of power surged to the new highest 1,88,452 MW at 9:42 on January 28.
“The rate at which we will go, we will cross 2,00,000 MW immediately”.
