Power Infra GZB is set for RS 500 Crore Overhaul

Ghaziabad: Believe it or not, there is no shortage of strength in Ghaziabad.
But this district often rolled under unscheduled power outages because of “local errors” – all because of the outdated electricity infrastructure, officials said.
All that will change.
Under the updated distribution sector scheme in the center, Ghaziabad’s power infrastructure is set for repairs in the span of five years and for that RS 500 Crore expenditure has been intended.
SSSSUNDER scheme, Power Department plans to set 39 new substations and increase capacity of 70 of 149 substations.
Some 1,536 transformers will also be installed and most importantly 22,315 km of electrical channels will be changed in all districts, according to officials.
“The scheme, with more expenses than Rs 3 Lakh Crore, aims to improve operational efficiency and financial sustainability of discounts to strengthen the power supply infrastructure in the country,” Pankaj, Head of Passchimanchal engineer Vidam Nigam Limited (Paskal), was told toi.
“We will spend the RS 500 Crore in Ghaziabad for the next five years, and we intend to overhaul the infrastructure of power in all districts.
The work will include the installation of pre-paid meters, increase the capacity of the sub-station, and replace the cable over 40 years old In the city, “he added.
The Department of Strength has conducted a survey of the nature of the work that needs to be done to change the infrastructure in the country.
In the survey, it has been revealed that the city needs 39 new substations.
And of the 149 substations, the capacity of 70 will be added, said Chief Engineer.
“Apart from this, around 1536 transformers will be installed and the 22,315 km cable in the city must be replaced,” Pankaj said.
“Based on the demand for power and the projected population, we will focus on the problem of being overloaded and for that part we have to work to replace 12,494 km 11kv line in all districts.” The 132kv line that supplies power to the CISS-HINDON area of the four sub-stations – Morta, Lal Kuan, Rathi ESPAT and DPS – also in poor condition and during high demand, produces blackouts.
The power department also works on plans to mark electricity poles and transformers with QR codes with the aim of reducing power theft.
“Loss lines refer to lost forces in electrical conductors during the transmission phase and distribution.
These losses are caused by technical reasons and electricity theft.
Cumulatively it is called AT & C losses, which is around 17% in Ghaziabad and our work will require dealing with This problem too, “Pankaj said.
“That’s with the eye to check the theft of power that we make the system.
The system requires electrical pole marking and transformers with a QR code and when scanned, it appears with a strong number of the power taken from it during the” he added.
