Lucknow: Prannoy HS India fell from the Tournament Syed Modi International Super 300 with a direct defeat to Arnaud Merkle from France in the Singles quarter-finals on Friday.
Indian fifth seed, former top 10 player, lost 19-21 16-21 to his French opponents in a 59-minute quarter-final match.
Mithun Manjunath, however, advanced to the semifinals after defeating Sergey Sirant from Russia 11-21 21-12 21-18 in the quarter-final match which lasted one hour.
Manjunath will face Merkle in the semifinals.
In a mixed doubles, Indian couples from Mr.
Arjun and Treesesa Jolly beat eight French duo from William Villeger and Anne Tran 24-22 21-17 in the quarter-final match which lasted 42 minutes.
Arjun and Jolly will face compatriot and seventh seed, Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto in the semifinals.
In the double quarter-finals of women, Ramya Venkatesh Chickmenahalli and APEXHA nayak admitted the eighth Walkover Malaysian Pair Anna Ching Yik Cheong and Teoh Mei Xing.
