Saarbrücken (Germany): Pranroy HS Shuttler India made the first exit while Sourabh’s colleague Verma advanced to the pre-quarter-finals after receiving a walkover at Hylo Open Super 500 tournament on Wednesday.
Prannoy fell 21-16, 17-21, 7-21 to reduce lower than the Nhat Nguyen shuttler in the men’s singles match which lasted 57 minutes.
Verma, on the other hand, received a walkover in his first round match against Max Weisskirchen from Germany.
The reason German withdrawal is unknown.
Verma will face the winner between Canada Brian Young and eight Kantaphon Wangcharoen seeds from Thailand in the 16th.
Later, the sixth seed Kidambi Srikanth will take the Japanese Watanabe chef while Subhankar Dey locked the horn with Lee Dong Keuns South Korea.
In Single Women, Aakarshi Kashyap will play Nespi Yigit from Turkey in his opening round match.
