Prayagraj: More than 73% of dengue cases in urban areas

Prasagraj: With more than 73 percent of cases of dengue fever reported from urban areas, the health department official ran from the pillar to post to find out the root causes behind the spread of diseases transmitted by vectors.

District Malaria Officer (DMO) Anand Kumar Singh said we had intensified the spraying of anti larvae and fogging in the pockets identified (hotspots) for dengue cases and controlled things.
He, however, said the health team interacted with Denizens to make them aware of the diseases transmitted through vectors in various parts of the district.
People complained about the factors responsible for mosquito nurseries and cause diseases that are transmitted through vectors.
The fact is that mosquito-transmitted diseases have taken the grip in the city because of the flood and cases of virus fever also witnessed the increase in many areas in the past few days.
The focus is being shifted towards the area including MLN Medical College Campus, Sulssarai, Shivkuti, Chandpur Salori, Chota Baghara AMD Naini area where more cases are reported, he added.
DMO, however, said the department had put stress to spread awareness about dengue fever and diseases transmitted through other vectors.
The Ministry of Health has increased its supervision and emphasizes the cleanliness drive for prevention of further disease spread.
