Chennai: Apart from the Covid-19 Pandemic Pandemic and Online Internship, Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) received by students in IIT-Madras increased by 20% this year compared to the previous year.
“A total of 227 PPOs have been made for IIT-Madras students for 2021-22 as an offer of 186 for 2020-21 academic years.
The post will continue until the start of the phase I placement from the campus scheduled to start on December 1,” said the release from IIT- M say.
The main factor behind this performance at PPOS is a strong internship program from the Institute.
This process facilitates students for internships in the company and leads to PPO.
“The internship process provides a good opportunity for companies to evaluate our students who intern up with them for a long period of time.
It also helps our students learn more about companies, the roles they can be offered and potential career prospects,” said CS Shankar Ram, Advisor (training and placement), IIT-Madras.
Qualcomm made 18 pre-placement offers and it was followed by Microsoft which made 14 offers this year.
