Kolkata: The city school affiliated with CBSE and Cisce will treat the first semester examination September as a pre-semester exam for class X and XII students get ready for the board assessment.
This pre-semester exam in all schools will be held in MCQ mode.
Both boards have divided their exams into two semesters that will occur around the same time and follow similar exam patterns.
The first semester exam from the board will occur in November and the two boards will have a fully test in MCQ mode.
So the school converts their first-term test pattern for Board children in accordance with the November semester exam requirements.
Some schools will have several practice exams to make students ready, up and above the September exam.

Collegiate St Xavier’s school will tell Board students on Monday that the September block test will no longer have subjective questions but will be fully MCQ.
“We tried it last year for test units and so our students were rather familiar.
We took the September block test as a preparation test for them,” said Father Thamacin Arulappan, the principal.
At Don Bosco Park Circus there will be three MCQ tests for class students before they write the November semester exam.
The school has turned to MCQ mode, said the principal, Pastor Bikash Mondal.
“We will not interfere with the September exam because children need to write practice too.
We held our MCQ exam also to prepare Board students for ICSE and ISC.
We will conduct a pre-semester MCQ exam right before the November council exam,” he said.
Principal Heritage School, Seema Sapru, said they had held a virtual meeting with the head of the department and asked them to change the September test to MCQ mode.
The CBSE school has told students that the September short term exam will have a changing pattern.
“We followed the CBSE guidelines,” said Meena Sis, Director of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy.
DPS Board students Ruby Park will also write the MCQ test in the September test exam.
