Patna: A pregnant woman was destroyed to death while her two-year-old daughter was beheaded after a truck ran near them near Pillar Number 43 at Gandhi Setu in the Zero Traffic Police Station area at around 11:30 a.m.
on Wednesday.
Traffic Police Patna DSP-II Mohammad Ali Ansari said that the woman killed was Baba Devi, around 25 years old and her daughter was Nandani.
He said Babita Husband Rakesh Kumar (27) was also injured critically in the accident and was rushed to Hajipur Hospital aware in the Vaishali district for treatment immediately after the accident.
Ansari said the family was a native of Tirasia in Hajipur and went to Phulwarisharif at West Patna on a bicycle when the accident took place.
Dsp Ansari said they had learned that the woman was pregnant.
“Will be confirmed when close family members will provide information to the police or from post-mortem,” he said.
He said that it had emerged that Rakesh with Babita brought food for his mother who claimed to be in a hospital in Phulwarisharif after surgery.
DSP said that a truck came to Hajipur from Patna who ran over the family where the mother and son were killed in place.
“The woman comes under the rear wheel.
That’s the situation of her body beyond confession and has become a lump of meat.
The child was beheaded after coming under the wheel,” he said.
Ansari said the truck was intercepted when he escaped towards Hajipur and was taken to the Ganges Bridge Police Station.
“The driver was also arrested.
A FIR will be registered at the Zero Mile Traffic Police Station in Patna in connection with the incident,” he added.
