Surat: A 32-year-old pregnant woman ended life by jumping from the terrace on the sixth floor of her housing apartment in Kadodara in the letter district earlier on Wednesday morning.
The two-year-old son’s body was also found from a rented room where he lived with her husband.
The boy died of weakness and allegedly watered to death by the woman.
Body of Binita Pande was found on the road near Shree Nivas GreenCity Sai Unique Building where he lived with his husband Mahesh and his two sons.
However, the sons of three-year-old elders, found safely inside the house.
The body of a dead boy, Krishna, was sent for Post Mortem, the results confirmed by death due to weakness.
“Who killed the child was unclear and the police would question the family as soon as they were free of the last rights,” said K J Dhaduk, Police Inspector, the Kadodara Gidc Police Station.
The investigation so far revealed that Pande jumped around 4.15 in the morning and before taking extreme steps, he called his relatives in the city.
“He told them by telephone that he had killed his son and would end his life too.
He then jumped from the terrace,” the police said.
Mahesh, the native of Uttar Pradesh, was an industrial worker and was not present at the house at that time.
The police contacted the parents of a woman who had died in Mumbai who immediately reached the city.
“His parents have not been questioned in detail but they have not leveled any accusations until now,” police said, who also did not get important details about the couple from neighbors.
