If you are an iPhone user and have a YouTube premium subscription, you can now watch videos in Figure-In-Picture (PIP) mode in the IOS YouTube application, according to the report by Google 5TO5.
This feature has been launched by Google but may need time to reach customers everywhere.
This is an experimental feature for now which means you have to go to the application and manually activate it.
Figure-in-picture mode can then be used to view video content through other applications that you open on the screen.
To check whether you can access features and access it, of course, enter your Google account and then head to Youtube.com/new.
From there, you must navigate to the experiment “Picture-in-Picture on iOS”.
Tap the “Try” option that will activate the feature for your premium account.
To use it, open your YouTube application and play the video you want to watch.
Now, when you swipe or press the Home button, the application will be closed and the video will play on the mini screen which is a pip mode.
According to YouTube, the video in PIP mode will stop if you lock the screen.
However, the lock screen control still allows you to play content as you like.
The PIP feature for premium members who use the iPhone announced by YouTube earlier this year and after several hiccups, it seems eventually on track, even if it is an experimental for now.
When pip mode is experimental, it is for a limited time and will continue only until 31 October 2021.
One thing to note is that this feature is only launched on iOS which means you will not be able to access it on the iPad.
