New Delhi: Calcutta High Court on Wednesday recognizes Bengal Bengal Banerjee’s headpetition, challenging the selection of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari from Nandigram in the poll.
The High Court directed the election commission to preserve all records related to Nandigram polls.
The court said the notification was served by Adhikari and the other party in this matter.
Mamata Banerjee and her aide Suvendu Adhikari, who came out of the Trinamool Congress to join BJP ahead of the assembly election, was locked in the battle of high voltage elections in Nandigram.
Suvendu won the election with around 2000 margins.
However, Mamata accused the request to retell the election officials.
Justice Shampa Sarkar directed that the Banerjee election petition will be taken to hear on August 12.
