Srinagar: President of RAM Nath Kovind arrived here on Sunday on a four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh said.
They said Kovind arrived at Srinagar airport at 11:15 and received by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officers from the police and civil administration.
During the trip on July 25-28, the President will visit Drass in Ladakh to pay homage to the persistent courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Cargil conflict in the cargil war warnings on the 2nd anniversary of Cargil Vijay.
Diwas, the official said.
In 2019, bad weather had prevented the president from visiting Drass to participate in the Cargil Vijay Diwas, and instead, he paid his efforts by placing a bouquet of flowers on warnings at 15 main headquarters of the corps in Badamibagh here.
On Tuesday, the President would handle the 19th annual meeting of Kashmir University here, they added.
As part of the security measures for the President’s visit, the traffic on two roads approach to Raj Bhawan – where Kovind will remain – has been transferred between Sunday and Wednesday.
A traffic official official said the transfer had been placed in several areas of the city and no traffic was allowed on Jalan Forneshore, along the famous Dal lake from Dalgate and Nishat Axis, and headed for Gupkar.
