President Kovind to visit Bangladesh on December 16 to attend the victory day celebration: Official

Dhaka: President of RAM Nath Kovind will travel to Dhaka on December 16 to attend the Mistibs celebration of Bangladesh in 1971 from Pakistan after the release of nine months, officials said on Monday.
President Kovind will travel to neighboring countries on December 16 at a two-day visit at the invitation of his partner Bangladesh Abdul Hamid.
“We hope the President of India arrives (in Dhaka) on December 16 at a two-day visit to join our Yobel Gold celebration,” Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
His comment came a day after Foreign Minister Ak Abdul Momen told reporters that President Kovind would join the celebration of the Victory Day, which will also coincide with the Bangladesh founder wrapping ceremony, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur, Rahman’s Centenary Centenary.
This will be the first visit of President Kovind first and came eight months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangladesh to join the opening of the Centenary gap and the Jobel Golden celebration in March.
Bangladesh and India jointly held a design competition “Logo and Background”, marking the Maitri Diawas on December 6.
According to a report in Dhaka TRIBUNE, Bangladesh and India worked together to target two Mega next month – Maitri Diawas and Victory Day from Bangladesh – on December 6 and December 16 each with a high-level visit exchange.
Apart from the celebration of the Victory Day, the President will also take part in other key involvement, he said.
Bangladesh is commemorating Mujib Borsho, Centenary Birth of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 50 years of state liberation war.
The two countries also celebrated 50 years of formation of diplomatic bonds.
Bangladesh’s release war in 1971 broke out after seven sudden action at midnight on March 25, 1971 in East Pakistan who was once by Pakistani forces and ended on December 16.
Pakistan conceded defeat and unconditionally surrendered to Dhaka to allied forces consisting of freedom fighters and Indian soldiers.
India has recognized Bangladesh as a sovereign country on December 6 while expanding all support to Bangladesh’s freedom fighters.
Officially three million people were killed during the nine-month long war.
The two countries decided to commemorate December 6 as Maitri Diawas (Friendship Day), on the day when India recognized Bangladesh in 1971, the report said.
During his visit to Bangladesh in March, Modi’s Prime Minister met with his partner Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and they reviewed various bilateral bonds and discussed ways to deepen economic and cultural relations at the future times.
During a visit, both parties signed five areas covering areas such as connectivity, trade, information technology and sports.
