Chennai: The corporation collects a fine of up to 8,500 in individuals who sacrifice Covid regulations at marriage.
According to data Corporation, 44 violators were reported by Zon officials in 572 marriages that lasted for the past two weeks in the city.
The corporation has so far collected a total of 50,000 as a fine.
“We enforce a decent fine on people who fail to wear masks or observe social distance.
From one individual, 8,500 is collected for norm violations,” said the corporate commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi to Tii.
He said the wedding room manager had to tell the civilian body about booking a wedding.
