LONDON: The prevalence of Covid-19 infection in the UK is expected to have increased to 1 in 65 people on Sunday to July 24, the National Statistics Head Office (ONS) on Friday, adding an increase level may have slowed down.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has raised the last Covid limit in the UK regardless of the pre-dominance of the Delta variant which highly transplants which concerns scientists globally.
The ons infection survey provides a more complete, even though it is left behind, a picture of a pandemic in the United King’s week where the number of official daily cases began to fall from the peak of 54,674 recorded on July 17, 50,955 of which were in the UK.
“In the UK, the percentage of people who tested the positive Coronavirus (Covid-19) continued to increase in the week ended July 24, 2021, although there was a possibility that the level of increase might have slowed,” ONS said.
Estimated prevalence 1 in 65 up from 1 at 75 reported for the previous week.
ONS seems to estimate infection rates in the community outside of those who have been tested, providing prevalence estimates that are not affected by fluctuations in people to be tested.
