New Delhi: Former leader of the Sarkar and CPI (M) chairman of Sarkar Manik on Tuesday alleged that he was prevented to visit the country and the electoral district by BJP who came to power several times.
It came a few days after the CPI (M) Sitaram Yechury Secretary General wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who accused violence against the left party cadres by BJP in the state.
Sarkar served as Minister of Tripura Chair from 1998 to 2018.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Yechury and Sarkar attacked BJP for violence in Tripura.
“In Tripura, the Indian Constitution does not work.
CPI (M) MLA, including me, is not permitted to visit their constituencies.
In 42 months that BJP has been in power, I have stopped 15 times from visiting.
Various parts of my state and constituency,” Alleged Sarkar.
The two left leaders claimed that there was a “big dissatisfaction” of the BJP government in Tripura.
“CPI (M) is a spearhead attempt to digenize people’s protests.
They (BJP) don’t want to allow this process and let go of violence?” Yechury accused.
A few days ago, in his letter to the Prime Minister, Secretary General of the CPI (M) had alleged that the party’s office in Tripura was attacked by “BJP men ‘hordes” in “pre-planned fashion” on September 8 the letter, Yechury accused the “impunity” Operated attackers showed “state government insecurity”
