Ludhiana: Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, 2004-batch IPS officer, joined as Commissioner Ludhiana Police on Wednesday.
He has replaced Naunihal Singh, who served at the post only 32 days.
The new CP says prevention and detection of crime, redressal complaints and transparency will be a priority.
While interacting with the media, he said that Sho would be responsible if several other institutions managed to recover drugs from their jurisdiction.
Bhullar is given the honorary guard in the CP office.
Naunihal Singh had left before his arrival.
No senior official was present to accept Bhullar during the honorary guard, as a meeting of all officials called a few minutes after the combination.
Bhullar said, “Sincere efforts will be made for the prevention and detection of crime in the city.
Redressal complaints of people will be a priority.
I have learned that there are lots of fat cases, which we will exhaust the earliest.
The traffic is also a major concern.
I have asked officials Traffic to be on the road because they don’t have a job in the office.
Other police have also issued the same direction.
Only those who need to be in the office will be there and the rest will be in the field.
The police presence will be seen in the city.
