Prayagraj: Ashish Chauhan, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), was named as the new Chancellor of Allahabad University (AU). President and Visitor of Allahabad University Ramnath Kovind made the Chancellor to get a last-minute on Wednesday. Ahead of Chauhan, famous educationist Prof Govardhan Mehta was the Chancellor. He’d resigned before his sentence was finished in 2017. Afterwards, the ministry of Education on June 29, 2019, requested for titles of distinguished scientists or distinguished men of the nation for the article of the Chancellor. The varsity government had shipped some titles into the ministry, however they turned and brand new names were hunted from AU.
