Prez Prez: Diplomatic boycott from Beijing Oly ‘is not significant’, will not join

France did not have a plan to join the US and other people with the Beijing Winter Olympic diplomatic boycott, President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday, called the “insignificant” movement.
“To be clear: you have a complete boycott, and don’t send athletes, or you try to change things with useful actions,” he told reporters, adding that he “supports actions that have useful results”.
“I don’t hear anyone in the world say: Don’t send our athletes,” said Macron.
“So we’re talking about something rather symbolic.” France will work with the International Olympic Committee on the Charter that guarantees the protection of athletes “Remembering what happened for the past few weeks” Macron said in a real reference to the case of the Shuai Peng Chinese tennis player, who disappeared for three weeks after he made allegations of sexual violence against Former top CPC politician.
