Chennai: Chairman of the Minister of Tamil Nadu M St Stalin on Monday invited President RAM Nath Kovind to lead a hundred-year celebration of the Madras legislative council.
Former Chief of M minister M Karanganidhi will be launched in the assembly on that occasion.
Stalin met Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the first time after assuming costs in May.
“The Madras legislative council was founded on January 12, 1921 and the state government has decided to celebrate a hundred years of the legislature.
I asked the President to lead the celebration, and he had received,” The Main Minister told reporters after the meeting.
The minister’s chairman also invited the president to put the foundation stones for the construction of the Kalaignar Memorial Library in Madurai, a multi-special hospital in Guindey, Chennai, besides the Arch of Sangai Kamarajar to commemorate the 75th Independence Year.
“The President has convinced us to give a date in two days,” Stalin said.
The main minister denied raising other countries related problems with Kovind.
