Thiruvananthapuram: State Public Works Department (PWD) Secretary Anand Singh Daughter died on Thursday suspected after falling from the balcony of his apartment at Jawahar Nagar near Kowdiar in the city.
The deceased is Bhavya Singh, 16, students of class XI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom.
The police have registered the case and launched the probe into a situation that caused an accident.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 1,45 a.m.
on Thursday at the Nikunjam apartment complex at Jawahar Nagar.
Anand Singh and family are 9A flat residents on the ninth floor of the building.
It was a security personnel from the apartment complex that saw Bhavya allegedly fell from the balcony.
He still breathes when it’s found.
He rushed to a private hospital in Edapazhanji, but the doctors claimed to die on arrival.
The source in the police said it was time to confirm whether it was a case of an accident or suicide.
Even though the wall wall of the balcony has enough height, the possibility of a unintentional fall still cannot be ruled out.
The police have recorded a statement of family domestic aid as part of the probe.
