Kanpur: The most recent u-girder of section nine km, called ‘Priority Corridor’ Kanpur Metro project, placed near Motijheel station on Friday night and with this song from IIT to Motijheel is completely completed.
The work put U-Girders began on August 11, 2020, and the last 624-u-girder section – placed on Friday night.
Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) Director (Employment & Infrastructure), and other senior officials attended the construction site on the occasion.
Managing Director of UPMRC Kustar Keshav congratulated the entire Metro team and said, “The last Twin Girder in the Priority Corridor of the Kanpur Metro Project was placed on Friday and Saturday intervention.
With this nine km corridor from IIT to Motijheel finished.” Extraordinary work has been done by The UPMRC team and contractor, he added.
“This work is used to appear as a Herculean task for us, but we have completed it in more than 22 months since starting the construction of the first stack on November 15, 2019.
It shows we have done work with high precision.
This might be the fastest construction of each Metro project, “He said.
The laying track and signaling work on more than half of this corridor has also been completed, he said, adding that on the Metro team worked all the time to achieve the target of starting a trial in the priority corridor in November 2021.
Track playing work and signaling began from the IIT metro station and has reached outside the Geeta Nagar Metro station.
Finishing work is being carried out at the Metro station and 70% of that has been done.
“There are nine metro stations in priority corridors and finishing work are happening at all stations.
Finishing work on the first five stations – IIT, Kalyanpur, SPM, Vishwavidyalaya and Gurudev – are in the final stage, while working at other stations is also done quickly.
