Priority List arranged from children with comorbidity for vaccine launches

Pune: a comprehensive child’s priority list with comorbidity is being worked on the joint launch of Zycov-D and Covaxin in India, according to senior officials from the Covid-19 Center Working Group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (Ntagi).
Two covid vaccines intended for children’s immunization in the aged 2-17 bracket are likely to be introduced together under the Covid Country Immunization Program after a broader priority list is ready, the official said.
“Besides Zycov-D, we will also see Covaxin data after the drug controller General India provides approval of emergency use.
The plan is to issue a list of comprehensive children with comorbidity for priority,” the official said.
DCGI has not approved Covaxin Bharat Biotech for emergency use in children (2-17 years), although there are recommendations from the previous subject expert committee.
The supervisory body is looking for additional technical input on the vaccine.
SEC is part of the standard drug standard control organization.
Zydus Cadila received an emergency approval of use for Zycov-D (12-17 years) from DCGI in August.
DCGI approval is mandatory for vaccines that will be included in the Government Covid Immunization Program.
Experts, however, have emphasized that there is no urgent need to vaccinate all children.
This is because most children avoid severe Covid disease.
“The focus is to vaccinate the adult population at high risk.
Empty children, especially those who are healthy, not direct priority.
Finally, the government must vaccinate everyone, but there is no urgent need to analyzen all children,” said Pramod Jog, unit member Maharashtra pediatric task.
