Vadodara: One who was accused of being under the control of Gujarat for terrorism and organized crime (GCTOC) for alleged livestock smuggling returned to four more days in the police in Godhra.
Mehfooz Hussain Badaam, a citizen of Godhra, was previously sent to seven days in police detention.
Police said that he had ordered nine people under the GCTOC law on January 29 because of a number of cattle smuggling and cases of registered attacks on them.
“All nine have 45 violations registered against them.
They used to steal cattle grazing in public places and transport them to Godhra.
People hire by the defendant used to slaughter cattle in their homes or in an open room,” said the Special Public Prosecutor Special Prosecutor , Raghuveer Pandya.
“This is the first case in the state in which cattle smugglers and beef sellers have been ordered under GCTAC.
Police have arrested seven accused while two have not been arrested,” added Pandya.
Police said that this gang was involved in cattle smuggling and illegal massacre for years.
Beef is packed in a small bag and sent to a different place.
The police said that the defendant was part of an organized crime syndicate.
