Prisoners of Myanmar protested the military with songs, songs

BANGKOK: Prisoners in the most famous prison Myanmar held protests on Friday, singing popular songs against the military government and shouting political slogans, according to the closest residents and videos uploaded to social media.
One video showed a road close to Insein prison in Yangon with sound audio which clearly shouted support for the leader who was overthrown with Aung San Suu Kyi and drove Myint.
According to a lawyer who represents several of them who are detained, the detainees demanded the release of all held on political accusations, the easing of prison regulations and medical care for those who had fallen ill amid the Coronavirus case.
Lawyers request not to be named after the sensitivity of their position.
He said he was sure the conversation was taking place.
A resident, who asked not to be told for fear of possible impact, told The Associated Press by telephone he shouted when he heard the song, which lasted for about two hours.
Prison Authority did not respond to a comment request.
Witnesses said military vehicles entered the complex and soldiers placed outside.
Myanmar is currently shaken from the number of cases and the death of Covid-19 which surprised the very surprise of the country’s medical infrastructure, it has weakened when many state medical workers strike to protest the seizure of military power.
Crowded prisons in the country are very vulnerable to the spread of the virus, according to associations for political prisoners, who have conducted a survey of detention facilities.
On Tuesday a member of the Aung San Suu Kyi National League Executive Committee for Democracy, Nyan won, died after being infected with Covid-19 in Insein prison.
