Lucknow: Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Friday arrived here on a two-day visit where he would hold a meeting with party officials and leaders to prepare for the following year’s assembly poll.
He reached Chaudhary Charan Singh Lucknow airport in the afternoon and moved in the procession through the main road of the state capital to the Statue of Gandhi in GPO Park Hazratganj and Garlanded IT.
All through routes, Congress workers warmly welcomed and bathed flower petals in various places.
Ashok Singh, Organizers of the Media Department and Communication of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, said Priyanka Gandhi reached Hazratganj through Alambagh, Charbagh and Bapak Bhawan.
He said he would hold a meeting with the President of the State Executive, the Carrier and District and the City Unit on Friday at Congress Officers.
After that, he will also meet with various farmer organizations.
Priyanka Gandhi will also meet with the president of the Amethi and Rae Bareli Block Congress on Saturday, the second day of the tour, and holds a meeting with the carrier of the ‘berozgar manch’, a body that represents the unemployed people.
He will also hold a meeting with a former member of Parliament, EX-MLA, former president of the district and city and former head of the frontal organization and department and then meet with the head of the frontal organization, department, members of Zila Panchayats and head blocks.
He is scheduled to return to Delhi Saturday night, Singh added.
