New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday attacked the center for his statement that there was no death due to lack of oxygen during the second wave of Covid, accusing that death occurred because the government increased oxygen exports in the pandemic year and did not regulate tankers to transport it.
The center on Tuesday told Rajya Sabha that there was no death due to lack of oxygen “specially reported” by countries and the United States during the second Covid-19 wave which hit the country.
Hit the government, Priyanka Gandhi said, “‘There is no death due to lack of oxygen’: Central Government.
Death occurs because – in the year of Pandemi, the government increases oxygen exports around 700 percent.” The Secretary General of Congress accused the deaths because the government did not regulate tankers to transport oxygen and ignore the suggestions of the groups empowered and the parliamentary committee, there were no arrangements made to provide oxygen.
“There is no initiative shown in preparing oxygen plants in the hospital,” he said.
Congress on Tuesday accused the Minister of State for Bharati Pravin Pawar from Parliament which was misleading by giving “false information” that there was no death due to lack of oxygen during the second wave.
In a written reply for a question, Pawar said, “detailed guidelines for death reporting have been issued by the Ministry of Health Union to all countries and UTS.
Thus, all states and UTS report cases and deaths to the UNI Ministry of Health on a regular basis.
However, there are no deaths due to lack of oxygen have been reported specifically by the State and UTS “
