Lucknow: Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday departed to Delhi after wrapping a five-day tour at Uttar Pradesh where he urged party workers to work all the time for the assembly selection of 2022.
Ending a five-day tour, Priyanka Gandhi told party workers in Rae Bareli that Congress plans to declare a candidate on time for the upcoming elections.
Facing stiff challenges to stop the congress slides in the state, he had started his tour on Thursday, starting with the capital of Lucknow.
On Friday, Congress has announced 2,000 KM-Long Yatra through villages and cities in the state ahead of the assembly poll.
The decision to take Yatra was taken at a meeting led by Priyanka Gandhi and was attended by members of the Party Advisory Committee and Strategy.
The Secretary General of the Congress the next day held a marathon meeting with a party office carrier here and said their views would be very important in the distribution of tickets for future polls.

Rae Bareli has five assembly chairs that both with Congress and BJP respectively, and one with the Samajwadi Party.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi represents Rae Bareli’s constituency at Lok Sabha.
According to a spokesman for the Rae District Congress Committee, Bareli Vinay Dwivedi, the carrier of the district unit office and the party city unit met Priyanka Gandhi.
Members of various frontal organizations, party candidates and members of Zila Panchayat from Congress also met him, he said.
During his visit to the top, he advised party workers to work all the time to polls and said that strong Congress organizations were as important as the nation’s development.
The party also told prospective candidates to submit the application on September 26, a party leader said.
