New Delhi: Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold a meeting with the leaders of the senior Congress Uttar Pradesh on Monday because the party seeks to intensify organizational activities in the assembly process next year.
Preparation for assembly selection, strategies and ways to energize the cadres will become a virtual meeting agenda, the source said.
The development came after a meeting between Priyanka’s Minister of Gandhi and Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel, who said he would play an important role in preparing Congress organizations at Uttar Pradesh for assembly polls by focusing on strategy management and STAN.
Baghel, who has played an important role in the assembly process of Assam with his team carrying out the training of large party workers, meeting Secretary General of the Congress responsible for Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi at the head of the party 10 Janpath Residence Sonia Gandhi.
Last week, the Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Unit Congress Ajay Kumar Lallu had expressed confidence that his party had the capacity to combat elections without alignment with one of them and formed the next government itself.
His statement had arrived a few days after the Samajwadi and the party Bahujan Samaj ruled out the forging the main alliance to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll.
In an interview with PTI, Lallu also said the Congress would fight the Assembly poll at Uttar Pradesh next year under Priyanka Gandhi “Dekh-Rekh (supervision)”, and that under his leadership, the party will return to the state afterwards more than three decades ,
