Pro-Kannada Organizations Cancel Bandh Karnataka

Bengaluru: Pro-Kannada Clothing on Thursday resigned Fajar-to-dusk Karnataka Bandh called on Friday following a lack of support and unity among the organizers.
Some Kannada’s clothes, under the leadership of Valatat Nagaraj, has called for the bandh demanding a complete ban on Maharashtra Ekikarana Samiti (MES), a political party active in Bellagavi.
This followed by the recent incident burned Kannada flags at Maharashtra Kolhapur and defacement of Sangolli Rayanna’s statues, Kiture Rani Chennamma, and the portrait of Basavanna in Bellagavi, allegedly carried out by MES activists on the sidelines of the 10-day winter session of the Legislative State.
The bandh was canceled after Nagaraj met Bukavaraj Bommai Wednesday following a strong appeal from CM to attract bandh in the interests of the community and the business was shaken under the impact of Covid.
“The CM has promised the government will do everything possible and according to the law to ban MES.
He is looking for time and we have decided to attract bandh,” said Nagaraj.
Another leader, Sa Ra Govindu, said the meeting would soon be called to decide for the future action if the request for a ban was not fulfilled.
“We have not set any time limits since the minister is sought after to speak experts,” he added.
Bommai said everyone on the same page to protect Kannada’s interests, Kannadigas and Karnataka.
On the request for a ban, he said, “All things have been discussed.
I have stated openly the government legally checking.” When Nagaraj called for the last week’s bandh, many pro-Kannada clothes have supported it, while some as led by Gowda Ta Narayana Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, just leave.
On Wednesday, even those who initially supported the call, such as the Karnataka Faction Rakshana Vedike Praveen Shetty, also made U-turn.
