WASHINGTON: Demonstrators took to streets around several leading US cities, demanding an end to the escalating violence between Israel and Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip.
From the funding Washington, D.C., hundreds participate in pro-Palestinian protests on Saturday, marching in the Washington Monument into the US Capitol, reports Xinhua news agency.
Also on Saturday, tens of thousands of people dwelling in Los Angeles in support of Palestinians.
Local press said a couple of pro-Israel counter-protesters gathered, and police officers retained the classes split.
A demonstration that began at a neighbourhood at the Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, that includes a big Arabic-speaking community, lasted throughout the roads for many hours Saturday afternoon, ” said that an ABC News report.
Back in San Francisco, a raucous crowd banged drums and also cried”Palestine will be free” because they flew throughout the Mission district into Dolores Park, ” the report stated, adding pro-Palestinian presentations were held in Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta and a few other US cities.
The protests were intended for Nakba Day, that Palestinians celebrate every May 15 to commemorate the 1948 displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians amid Israel’s war of independence, local press reported.
Considering that the tensions flared on May, Israel has pounded Gaza with countless air strikes and cubes, murdering at least 145 people, including 41 children and 23 girls.
Meanwhile, the rockets fired by militant groups in Gaza have killed 10 people, like a wealthiest boy, a soldier and 2 girls.
