Nagpur: The case of a 17-year-old boy who allegedly raped a 13-year-old child caused the discovery of biogas-bombing plants of an abortion racket allegedly in Arvi Tehsil from Wardha Regency, from where about 54 frameworks and 11 skulls were found on Wednesday .
A doctor and mother-in-law, also an obstetrician, along with their support staff, may have operated an abortion racket from the Kadam Hospital belonging to their family.
The police have so far arrested Dr.
Rekha Kadam and Nurse Sangeeta Kale and Puja Dahan, despite the 17-year-old man.
On Thursday, police said Dr.
Rekha’s mother-in-law, Dr.
Shailaja Kadam, was 74, made together in this case but had not yet been detained.
Resources in the police said Rekha’s husband, also an obstetrician at a government hospital in Arvi, was also under the scanner for his role in the racket.
The Special Investigation Team (Sitting) under the Arvi (SDPO) Sub-Division Police officer Sunil Salunkhe was formed to investigate this case, which was registered on January 9 after the 13-year-old girl filed a complaint to his girlfriend to lure.
He became a physical relationship and then forced to cancel.
He had an abortion at the Kadam Hospital a few days ago.
The police were not told about abortion.
Checked that the hospital was mentioned in his notes that the child below was received because of “abdominal pain”.
The police said the hospital did not even have CCTV recordings.
Police Inspector Prashant Holkar, monitored the case under Inspector General Cherring Dorje, said the medical expert team would visit the site to guide sitting on the probe.
“The police investigated various angles to ensure how many abortions were illegally carried out, including those involving small pregnancies, and whether the fetus was discarded after a legal standard operating procedure,” Holkar said.
A special team of the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) will visit the Biogas factory in the place of the Kadam Hospital to do more searches with the Arvi Police team under Sdpo Salunkhe and Police Inspector Bhanudas Pidurkar.
Skulls and frameworks have so far recovered from biogas factories will be submitted to RFSL to ensure age, gender, and other details of genetic remnants.
“Dr.
Shailaja has allowed the use of equipment and places for abortion.
We investigated whether he was also directly involved,” said an official.
Police sources said investigating rape cases took the probe team to the Kadam Hospital.
During search, the police recovered the skeleton and skull from the biogas plant in the hospital.
Examined that district police are now considering registering other violations in pre-conception and pre-Christmas diagnostic techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994.
“Complaints from civil surgeons are needed to request PCPNDT actions for the misuse of Sonongraphy and Flouuting machines from pregnancy’s medical termination norms , “said an official.
