Gurgaon: The case has been registered at the cyber police station in the city, where it was revealed that a large number of customers from brand cosmetic products and baby care are popularly cheated by online fraudsters.
The fraudsters have brand customer data and call people who offer them schemes where the person will receive electronic products as a gift for a certain amount of goods purchases.
To take advantage of bidding, customers are asked to make payments into account details shared by cheats.
Fraud is revealed when consumers of Honsasa Pvt Ltd, which produce leather products and hair care and services that are relevant for adults and babies under the name of the Mamaearth brand, flooded with complaints from customers.
In a five-day period between December 15 and December 20, the company received 471 complaints from their customers.

In this offer, consumers are asked to buy a product worth RS.
4,999 to get cashback and free gifts such as televisions, cellphones, refrigerators, laptops, air conditioners, etc.
The company claims that they have no offer and that this is doing scammers.
“Fraudsters have personal information from customers such as their names, shipping addresses, order numbers and other details of previous customer purchases with the company, which they use to gain customer trust,” he said.
To get customer trust, fraudsters first request a target to visit the company’s website and add products to a trolley.
“After that, the fraudsters notify customers from favorable offers and cash they can use and make them pay through UPI or Net Banking into their account,” he wrote in the complaint submitted to the police.
The company accused the scammers also forged fake ID cards and letters on behalf of their founders and directors to gain trust from consumers.
These fake documents are shared with consumers through the WhatsApp chat.
