Kurukshetra: Prof.
Raghuvendra Tanwar Kurukshetra, Haryana has been named among 107 recipients to receive the Padma Shri award as invited by the President of India.
When contacted, Prof.
Tanwar said, “It is a great honor and someone has a lot of work to do and it is recognition and honor.”

Tanwar was appointed as Chair of the Indian History Research Council (ICHR), New Delhi, for a period of three years by the Government of India (Government of Indonesia).
Prof.
Tanwar who joined me as a lecturer in August 1977 had an extraordinary academic record, with two gold medals in MA history.
He was appointed as an open selection professor in 1997 and also worked as the Dean of my Academic Academic and Dean of Social Sciences.
He has disappeared in February 2015 and in July 2016 was appointed as Director of Haryana Academy of History and Culture.
Prof.
Tanwar was awarded the prestigious National UGC Fellowship (Research Award) 2002-2005.
He did the main research project at Jammu & Kashmir for the period 1947-53 in 2013-15.
Prof.
Tanwar was famous for his studies on Indian partitions, especially Punjab.
This work based on sources throughout India and the UK is a daily report on what happened in 1947 and was widely recognized.
Research and publications at Jammu & Kashmir while questioning large narratives, especially by Western scholars has argued and established how Kashmir had clearly supported the state accession with the Indian Union in 1947.
Prof.
Tanwar’s latest study is the story of the Illustration of Indian partitions, published by the Publication Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Indonesian Government in English and Hindi.
He has several other major publications including Lal Biography illustrated and at Sir Chhotu RAM.
