Prayagraj: Former Geography Department Head of the University of Allahabad and the leading name in the field of geomorphology, Prof.
Savindra Singh has written a new book.
The new work is related to the topic of the touched geography called Cryogeography.
It is worth mentioning, Prof.
Singh has written a typical and challenging work when he lost his wife, which exhaled his last in 2020.
He suffered from cancer.
However, it was not affected by the death of a better half, Prof.
Singh had come out with this work for greater improvement of student brotherhood who did not have many literature about this significant geographic branch.

Speaking with Toi, Prof.
Singh said, “Cryogeography refers to scientific studies on the surface of frozen i.e.
cryosphere, components, their formation and distribution, permaffer, physical processes operating in Cryosphere”.
This book consists of 13 chapters related to Cryosphere and various theoretical and applied aspects.
It contains chapters about the basic concepts of cryogepgraphy, cryosphere, ice, and ice core, ice shelves and icebergs, permafrost, periglacial, geomorphic processes and glaciers, glaciers, glaidity and swamp landscapes, climate change, ice age etc.
“This work is very useful for students, researchers and civil service candidates and other competitive examinations because it includes various contemporary problems such as global warming and climate change and its consequences such as glacier smelting and sea level rise due to excessive human disorders.”, Said the head of the geography department, Au, Prof.

Born on July 10, 1944, in the Ghazipur district rose, Prof.
Singh conducted an early school of Gazipur itself and came to Azamgarh in class 9 to 12.
He was among the toppers in all classes until post-graduated.
He has won several awards including Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sanshan Award about Paryavaran Bhugol in 1993 and is a colleague of honor from the International Geomorphology Association in 2017.
