Chennai: India Institute of Technology Member of the Faculty of R I Sujith has been awarded the famous alliance of the International Acoustic and Vibration Institute (IIV).
Fellowship is given to individuals with a leading career in acoustic vibrations.
Sujith, also an alumnus of IIT-Madras, is currently the Srinivasan Sair Professor in the Aerospace Engineering Department, IIT-Madras.
Iiav works to advance acoustic and vibration science by creating an international scientific community that is responsive to the needs of scientists and engineers in all countries.
This works with the scientific community and with other international organizations to increase information exchange.
Sujith works on experiments and modeling.
Some of the main research interests of Sujith with impact in the field include termoacoustic instability in practical gas turbine machines and rockets, the application of dynamic system systems and complex system theory for thermoacustic instability, obtaining early warning (precursors) for the emergence of thermoakustic instability and intelligent control strategies using complex system theory .
Sujith has more than 360 technical publications (including 186 referee journal publications), 12 patents and have also written a book called ‘Termoacoustic instability: a complex system perspective.’
