Hyderabad: Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, a professor from Telangana, has been appointed as Chair of the Grant University (UGC) commission on Friday.
The Ministry of Education, in the notice, declared the appointment of Kumar, who was the representative of the Chancellor of the University of Jawaharlal Nehru (JNU), to the post for the next five years or until he was 65 years old, which was early.
“The central government appoints Professor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Deputy Chancellor, Jawaharlal University Nehru to Pos Chair, University Grant Commission at Level 17 of the Pay Matrix,” Government Notice.
The UGC Chairperson has fallen empty on December 7 after Prof.
D P Singh resigned at the 65th round.
Kumar was a native of Mamidala in Nalgonda.
He made Mr.
