PANAJI: Senior professor of the Chemistry School at Goa University, Wisnu S Nadkarni, will function as a new university registrant.
The post fell emptiness after the previous registrant Y V Reddy resigned from the post on September 16, 2020, citing health reasons.
Radhika nayak has acted as a registrant since then.
On September 2021, Gu called the application for the registrar post and received 10 applications.
Interviews of candidates were carried out in the last week of October and Nadkarni’s name was resolved.
Nadkarni is expected to be responsible for a registrant this weekend.
Nadkarni has a doctorate from the University of Mumbai and has worked on several prestigious research projects, one of the development of the latest novel polymer detector for selective dosimetry analysis.
The new Registrar was chosen based on recommendations from the selection committee.
This committee consists of four members and chaired by the representative of Chancellor.
One member is an academic or administrator who is a prospective Chancellor or Governor of Goa.
Two other members were nominated by the Executive Board of its own members.
The minimum qualification and experience for registrar posts is a postgraduate degree and at least 15 years of experience as a lecturer or reader, where eight years must be with the experience of education administration.
Or else, candidates must have comparable experience in the establishment of research and other higher education institutions or at least 15 years of administrative experience eight years as equal representative or postal registrar.
