Firozabad: A professor, who allegedly made an insulting statement against the IRANI Union Minister on Facebook, sent to prison after he gave up in court here.
Shaharyar Ali surrendered to the additional session of Judge Anurag Kumar and moved the interim assurance application on Tuesday.
The judge canceled plea guarantees after that the professor was sent to prison.
Police Firozabad had booked Ali, head of the historical department in Srk College, in March for alleged obscene Facebook post against the minister of women and children.
The college then serves him with a suspension notice.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court refused to provide protection from the arrest to Ali.
The anticipatory guarantee tree submitted by the Professor was also rejected by the Allahabad High Court in May.
Refusing to provide Ali’s protection from the arrest, justice J J J J Munir said there were no ingredients in the notes to show that the professor’s account was hacked.
