Ranchi: It is a bleak sightsee for clothing store owners and traders on Sundays because they have to close their store to comply with the Guidelines for the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in Covid-19.
Considering it is the last Sunday before Durga Puja this year, traders have appealed to the state government to relax their guidelines stating that commercial companies must be closed to prevent public meetings.
However, there is no response from the country with their attraction.
City’s leading shops such as Firayalal, Kashmir Vastralaya, shopping centers on Jalan Mahatma Gandhi, Circular Road and Ashok Nagar keep their window leaves down.
On Saturday night, they were all busy with customers who were busy choosing their newest new clothes before the celebration.
Small traders hope to make sales on Sundays running.
“For more than a year now, we suffered losses because of the locking of Covid-19.
We have clamped our hopes in Puja Durga for the rotation in the business.
But the government reduces our plan by prohibiting business on Sunday,” said Pradeep Barman, owner of Fabric MAA At Bachelor Chowk on Jalan Mahatma Gandhi.
Sanjay Suneja, the owner of another clothing store above the bazaar, said: “Now, we are banking in the upcoming wedding season because Durga Puja turns out to be a humid squib because of restrictions.
Last year, the wedding season was also damaged by restrictions on the number of customers.
But this year , there is no sidewalk for now.
