Jaipur: The 64-year-old project consultant from Gurugram was shot dead when he left the Vaishali Office of the National Highway Authority (NHAI) after completing a meeting with officials on Thursday afternoon.
Rajinder Kumar Chawla curled up to the ground under a tree, almost 10 meters from the NHAI office after the shooting.
The two armed attackers then rushed to a different residential area.
According to the police, the shooting took place shortly after 14:40.
Chawla had just concluded her meeting with Nhai officials and stepped out of the office, located in D-148 behind the power sub-station when both were accused of denim Jeans and T-shirts walked to give up and fired one shot into the temple.

The police restored the brass shell from near Chawla’s body.
Blood flowed from his head and he died at SMS Hospital without regaining awareness.
“The armed men fired a single shot close to the victim’s forehead,” said DCP (crime) Anand.

“They knew Chawla’s moment would come out of the building after completing the meeting.
They have parked their vehicles elsewhere and walked to the location to execute murder,” said an officer.

Police said that Chawla had retired in 2015 from the Department of Public Works (PWD) in Haryana.
He worked as a consultant after his retirement.
He came to Jaipur at least three times before.
