Project to rehabilitate addicts

Bhubaneswar: drug addicts, who are involved in grabbing, theft or violations related to other properties in the city, may soon get new leases.
The commissional police have decided to facilitate their care in the center of deaddictions, bring them to the mainstream and give them livelihood support.
“We initially helped 50 drug addicts under our new initiative – Deaddiction, Reformation and Entrepreneurship Assistance to make the community safe (dream) – launched on Wednesday.
Our aim is to reform drug addicts, most of which commit property-related crimes.
Initiatives This will be funded by Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), “Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said on the sidelines of the 14th enlargement of the Komisionce police on Wednesday.
Priyadarshi said the police would launch awareness campaign in slums and educational institutions to make drugs free drugs.
