Bhubaneswar: This center has a project so far worth more than Rs 450 Crore under various components of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) for the overall growth and development of the food processing sector.
In a written reply at Lok Sabha, the minister of food processing Union Prahlad Singh Patel said under PMKSY, the center so far released a grant around Rs 109 Crore to Odisha under various component schemes.
“The Ministry of Food Processing Industry provides financial assistance related to credit (capital subsidies) in the form of grants in assistance to employers to establish food processing and preservation infrastructure and food processing units,” the Union Minister said.
For queries from MP BJP Basanta Panda on the project status under PMKSY in Odisha, the United Minister said the component scheme such as Mega food parks, integrated cold chains and additional value infrastructure, creation and food processing capacity, food safety and quality guarantee infrastructure are being taken in Odisha , “This center has so far gave sanction 12 component projects under seven PMKSY have been completed.
PMKSY is a scheme driven by demand and is being carried out throughout the country,” Patel said.
The first Mega Food Park Odisha was founded by the Ministry of Food Processing in Raya on an investment around Rs 81 Crore, including HS Center RS ​​50 Crore, with facilities such as the fully operational industry warehouse, developing industrial plots to rent food processing units, rice processing complexes, warehouses, stores Cold, multi-fruit processing facilities and other similar facilities.
It is planned to benefit around 25,000 farmers in areas dominated by tribes.
The center has also planned another Mega food park in the state with the aim of attracting private investment in the food processing sector, as well as the focus sector of the state government.
