Coimbatore: 24/7 drinking water supply project will ensure the safety of drinking water by preventing contamination, a corporate official said.
“Water is contaminated when waste water enters the pipeline due to leakage.
When supply is stopped, vacuum forms in pipes and waste water enters the pipe to fill the emptiness.
If the water is supplied continuously, there will be no room for contaminated water to enter the pipe,” said The official was told.
This project will substantially increase the collection of water costs because the high-quality meter is used, an official involved in carrying out the project.
“The cost of water collected by the corporation has increased dramatically around 50% when the reading meter was handed over to private companies a few years ago.
Previously, corporate employees were involved.
Imagine if the old meter, which is less accurate, replaced with better meters and mechanisms for accurate reading 2011.
The Civic Agency will pay private company RS 54 Crore for the first year.
The cost has been determined.
The Civic body will pay Rs 169 Crore for the 21st year, which will be the last year of a private company handling the system.
“Central monitoring cells, who will use The control control system and data acquisition (SCADA), will be set to monitor the supply system.
“This system will make it easy to identify problems and regulate it correctly,” Officially added.
