PANAJI: BJP on Sunday appointed former Minister of Tourism and former Saligao Mla Dilip Parulekar as vice president of the State Party.
Parulekar does not include a party ticket for Saligao for future polls.
Tickets allocated for Jayesh Salgaonkar who left the GFP recently to join BJP.
Parulekar said that he and his workers had decided not to work for each candidate in the 2022 poll, but changed their decision after the Goa desk responsible for Devendra Fadnivis promised that a more important role would be given to him.
“Fadnavis Saheb held a meeting with me and said that I was given the responsibility as a party vice president.
He said that later I would be given more responsibilities.

BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanaavade said that after the party ticket for Saligao went to a new candidate, there was talk about dissatisfaction in the Parulekar camp.
But Tanavade said that unlike former CM Lax Phone Parsekar, who had walked out of the party because it was rejected by Mandrem tickets, Parulekar had proven loyalists.
“We see two different types of reactions.
Someone who previously served as party president, when the BJP’s minister’s head had decided to move.
But Dilip Parulekar has decided to stand strongly with the party.
The party will note this,” Tanavade said.
