Jaipur: A 63-year-old man who lives in Rupati Village under the Kuchera Police Station area in Saurur was cheated by almost Rs 1.61 Crore by Conmen in the past eight months.

“In May this year, the complainant of Ram Chaudhary got a call from Conman where he was told that he had taken an insurance policy that would be due immediately.
They claimed that he would get almost Rs 4 Crore as a maturity.

According to the police, in the last eight months Conmen made several calls to the victim and received almost Rs 1,61,86,458 from him.
“Everything began when Conmen claimed as a company representative told him that he got insurance from them and asked for proof of ID.
A few days after they began to tell him about the amount of maturity he would get,” Singh added.
However, when the victim got the last call from the counter on December 10 when Conman asked him to pay more money, he was angry and suspicious and Conman disconnected his phone.
“We have registered cases in the right and acting IPC section and an independent investigation is being carried out in this matter,” he added.
The police asked the man about how he could have more than Rs 1 Crore he paid for the criminals.
“He said that he was very impressed with the idea of criminals that he even took loans from people from his acquaintances and also guarded the land in a mortgage,” Singh added.
