Mumbai: Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday announced the neglect of property taxes for all homes that are less than 500 square feet in the city.
“The neglect of property taxes will take effect from January and this time is a total neglect,” said BMC Head Iqbal Chahal to Ti.
BMC recently muddled RS 11,000 crore premiums from the construction industry after the government announced a 50% neglect in premiums due to pandemics.
Chahal said until December 31, BMC also collected Rs 3,450 Crore in property tax when the target was only Rs 800 Crore.
“For 2021-22, the property tax target is RS 5,000 Crore and we will easily cover it,” he said, adding neglect will cost BMC around Rs 463 Crore.
Thackeray on Saturday called the meeting of Shiv Sena leaders from Mumbai, including the Minister of Urban Development Eknath Shinde, Minister of Man and Guardian for Mumbai Suburbs Aaditya Thackeray, Mayor of Kishori Pednekar and Congress Leader and the Island of the Minister of Guardian, Aslamh City Shaikh.
“Mumbai has been built with sweat and the hard work of ordinary citizens and it for them, we have made this decision.
Today, we, including Congress, work together …
Shiv Sena made an appointment, it not only guarantees,” he said.
The minister’s chairman said the party had given the same neglect in 2017, but this time it was a total neglect and would immediately apply.
Thackeray said Shiv Sena was born in 1966 and has become a ruling party in Mumbai.
The opposition leader Devendra Fadnivis, reacted to the announcement of CM Uddhav Thackeray, tweeted: “to fulfill the promise made in 2017, finally 2022, the election year, has arrived.” He also shared his speech video in a recent legislative session where he criticized Sena Shiv because he did not fulfill his 2017 promises.
“The government only releases small components of property tax.
People only get” Bhopla “(pumpkin) …
We hope the government will now fulfill its promise,” he said.
BMC officials say property tax consists of eight components, including general taxes, water taxes, sewerage taxes, educational CESS, trees and tax benefit tax, among others.
