Lucknow: After Allahabad and Mugalarai, there are now a proposal to rename the Jhansi train station after the local warriors of Ratu Lakshmibai, the leading figure of the first war in India in 1857.
Jhansi DM confirmed to the TOI that the proposal in this matter has been sent to the state government , According to sources that are highly placed in the government, the proposal is likely to be forwarded to the center immediately for further action.
“Local MP recommends a change in the name of the train station.
We have given approval of changes in names and sending them to the state government,” Jhansi DM Andre Wamsi was confirmed to TOI.
Jhansi MP Anurag Sharma told Toi that the proposal to rename the train station was debated about two years ago during a zonal train meeting, added “the proposal was made before the representative of the Bundelkhand.” “The decision was mentioned in the minutes of the meeting and has now gone to the state government for his view,” Sharma added.
After ruling in 2017, the BJP government has renamed three leading places – Allahabad, Mughalary and Faizabad.
Allahabad is now praying, Mugalaria is a Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar and Faizabad is Ayodhya.
While the names of Allahabad and Mugalsarai train stations were also changed, the Ayodhya Junction train station already exists.
Unlike Allahabad and Faizabad, there is no proposal to change the name of the city in the case of Jhansi.
The Chairman of the Minister of Yogi Adityanath has shown that the state government will continue with changes in names wherever it is found needed.
“We did what we taste good.
We changed his name to Mughalsarai after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Allahabad as Prayagraj and Faizabad as ayodhya.
Where there is a need, the government will take the necessary steps,” CM said in 2018.
